MyEchoRecall Support

Help with the MyEchoRecall app — recall checks, Pro, alerts, and your account.

MyEchoRecall lets you scan a barcode or search by product name to check whether a product has been recalled by U.S. government agencies (CPSC, FDA, USDA/FSIS, and NHTSA). This page answers the most common questions. If you need more help, email us anytime.

How do I check a product for recalls?

Open the app and either tap Scan to scan a product's barcode with your camera, or use Search to type a product name, brand, or model number. The app checks your entry against official recall databases and shows one of three results: recalled, possibly affected, or no recall found. Tap a result to read the official recall notice, including the hazard and what to do next.

Which recall sources does the app use?

MyEchoRecall aggregates publicly available recall data from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA, including food, drugs, devices, and pet food), the U.S. Department of Agriculture / Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA/FSIS), and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA, for car seats, tires, and equipment). Data is refreshed regularly so you are checking against current official information.

What is Pro, and how much does it cost?

Pro is a one-time $4.99 purchase — there is no subscription. Pro lets you save the products you own to a personal watchlist, get automatic push and optional email alerts when one of your saved products is recalled, and removes ads. The free version includes unlimited scans and searches.

I bought Pro but it isn't showing / I switched phones. How do I restore it?

Open Settings in the app and tap Restore purchase. Because Pro is a one-time purchase tied to your App Store or Google Play account, restoring re-activates it on any device where you're signed in with the same store account. If it still doesn't appear after restoring, email us and we'll help.

How do recall alerts work?

With Pro, add the products you own to your watchlist. When a new recall is published that matches one of your saved products, the app sends you a push notification, and — if you enable it in Settings — an email as well. You can turn push and email alerts on or off independently in Settings.

I'm not getting notifications.

First, make sure alerts are enabled in the app under Settings. Then check that notifications are allowed for MyEchoRecall in your device settings (iOS: Settings → Notifications → MyEchoRecall; Android: Settings → Apps → MyEchoRecall → Notifications). For email alerts, also check your spam folder and confirm your email address is correct on your account.

How do I delete my account and data?

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app: go to Settings → Delete account and confirm. This permanently removes your profile, saved products, alert settings, and related data. You can also request deletion from our account deletion page.

Is my data private?

We do not sell your data. Your scans and searches are used only to check recalls and to power your alerts. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
